Terms and Conditions of Service

The following describes the obligations and liabilities that go hand-in-hand with owning your internet account. We hope to cut through legal nonsense to give you a clear guide of what to expect and how to behave. By using Cyber Internet Services, Inc. Internet Access port, you agree to abide by the rules set forth below and by other rules as may be deemed necessary. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

  1. Privacy. Cyber Internet Services, Inc. has every intention to keep all aspects of your account private, but it is impossible for us to guarantee that any activity done while using our service will be completely private. You can, by using data encryption, increase your level of privacy. You will have to take all precautions to protect your private information; it is not guaranteed.
  2. Responsibility. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Choosing a good password is a part of this responsibility. You are not authorized to share your account with others. You are not authorized to log in more than once at the same time with one account. Violaters will have access terminated without recourse.
  3. Unlawful Activity. While using this Network Access Port, you may find opportunities to engage in illegal activity. We can not stop you from accessing data on remote sites all over the world, just like the telephone company can not keep you from dialing any number in the world. We take the position, that while using this port, users caught violating any LOCAL, STATE or FEDERAL law will have their account terminated without recourse.
  4. Pornography/Obscene Material. The possibility exists while connecting to various computer networks worldwide that you may encounter material deemed pornographic or obscene. It is possible for you to filter out, or NOT access those things which you find offensive. Only you can identify and avoid those objectionable systems. Just because you have access to certain "material" does not imply you are authorized to own any material that is in violation of LOCAL, STATE, or FEDERAL law, specifically any pornographic pictures as defined by law.
  5. Being Offensive. To keep from offending others, it is important to take some time to learn proper net etiquette, called 'netiquette'. Severe violations of netiquette can result in you and the system administration being flooded with E-Mail from around the world. Causing such a severe violation can result in account termination without recourse. Complaints from other users will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
  6. Commercial Advertising. While it is possible to make successful advertisements on the internet, there are a few ways to NOT go about it. Do NOT send unsolicited E-Mail to users concerning your product. Do NOT post messages in news groups that are not related to your product or service (i.e. posting to alt.dogs about cats).
  7. Spamming. Cyber Internet Services, Inc. does not tolerate SPAMMING in any form. If you "spam" you could be fined for the time it takes to respond to the complaints we receive, and your account will be cancelled immediately. Spam is worse that junk mail, it wastes all of our time, and clogs the Internet with useless information. Please also note that your account is your responsibility; if someone else uses your account to "spam" you will be liable. If you follow these guidelines, you will not have any problems:
    • Do not send unsolicited advertisements vie email (this includes purchased "lists" of names)
    • Do not send unsolicited email (use common sense when sending mail)
    • Do not encourage chain letters, just delete them
    • Do not cross-post "off-topic" messages to news groups
    • Do not post advertisement to news groups
    • Do not post advertisement to "listservs"
  8. Account Payment. Your account payment is due by a set date every billing cycle. Accounts shut off for nonpayment after 10 days will require a new setup fee. Accounts past due 30 or more days, are subject to termination without notice. All user files will be purged. 30 days notice required for account closure. Account changes require 15 days prior notice. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse service to anyone without reason. There is a $25 returned check fee and account suspension until picked up.
  9. Cancellation policy. We require 30 days' notice for account closure. Let us know by the 10th of the month and we will close your account at the end of that month, otherwise it will be the end of the following month. Account termination for policy violation does not release you from 30 day notice.
  10. Age Limits. Users under 18 years of age may not access this service without parental approval.
  11. IRC Bots. IRC Bots are not allowed on Cyber Internet Services' servers. Running an IRC Bot may result in immediate account termination.
  12. Referral plan For every new Cyber Internet Services, Inc. customer that writes your name on their application as the person who referred them to Cyber Internet Services, Inc., you will get a $10 credit to your account. That means that if you can find two people a month to refer, you could completely pay for your account!

User Agreement: I am responsible for what happens with my account for service. I hold Cyber Internet Services, Inc. its Owners and employees without harm or blame for any activities in connection with the use of my account. I understand that this account can potentially provide access to items described above.
